If I had freedom of speech…
If I had freedom of speech, I would be the voice of
everyone in my country, even if the Government took me to jail. I would say
everything that we think about rich people that use us for their own luxuries.
Can they imagine, just for a second, that we have feelings? They can’t separate
us from our families; they can’t exploit us like animals. Well, they are rich
people and they can.
If I had freedom of speech, I would talk to my people
about fighting for our rights. Just because we haven’t got money,
identification cards, good clothes or education, that’s not reason to USE us.
They might be more intelligent, richer and powerful than us, but they will
never be better people than us.
If I had freedom of speech, I would talk to the women
of my country and make them see that they shouldn’t be manipulated
by any man. Women should also have power, and they are not inferior in any
sense. There are amazing women in my country, like
Mikalita. Mikalita’s 17 years old. She works very hard every single day to feed
her family. She walks eight Kilometers every day in 38 ºC and, at the end of
the day, she suffers domestic violence by her husband. Yet she
resists.
If I had freedom of speech, I would just say that I’m
a 14 years-old girl and all I want is a chance to show that I care about
undeveloped countries like my own, about my future, and about showing the world
that in every second you are taking a shower, a man from my country is praying
for take one before dying. Every second you are fighting with your boyfriend
about he had left something misplaced, a woman from my country is crying in a
corner because “her boyfriend” has sexually violated her last night. Every
second you are wishing that there wasn’t school, a child from my country is
praying to have an education one day instead of having to work in a factory or
fight in a war.
But, you know what? At the end, we have nothing to
lose. We are from the Congo, a place who nobody knows. Help us.
I love this story is very sad but this really exists, reflects the reality , injustice and poverty in the world
